Social Media Manager/SEO Consultant at JAX Chamber
March 2012 - November 2012I was hired by the JAX Chamber as an independent contractor to manage their social media accounts including two Facebook profiles, Twitter, Linkedin and YouTube. I also consulted with the other departments within the JAX Chamber to help implement best practices and give advice on how to use the power of social media to leverage existing brand strategies. During my time there, we developed the #ilovejax initiative as well as #buychamber. The Chamber's continued Social Media efforts stood out as a way to prove value to existing members as well as to increase membership. Live tweeting became an integral part of the JAX Chamber's social media initiatives through my guidance and created huge returns for the organization through engagement and event attendance. I was responsible for creating, implementing and tweaking the Social Media strategy for the JAX Chamber based on specific goals in accordance with their marketing plan. I also advised on best practices for SEO during their website overhaul. This included website and video optimization strategies. This position enabled me to manage a variety of messaging and platforms on a large scale with great success. I loved this opportunity.

March 2010 - October 2011As an internet marketer, I managed all of A Quantum Leap's online marketing efforts. I sometimes assisted with hard marketing but that is not my specialty. I conducted various search engine marketing campaigns, measured their success, and tweaked accordingly. I also managed their social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The tutoring company I worked for employs a student-centered approach because we recognize the unique learning style of each student. I began as a tutor, found a passion for education and that is why I am proud to have been part of the marketing team for this company. I know the caliber of tutors they employ and I also know the passion for education which is evident in every choice my boss makes. They will never become a tutoring franchise. Everything is maintained through their corporate office in Jacksonville, FL. I used to keep the TutoringByCity website current and optimized. I also optimized just about anything that went on the web, whether it was an ad they posted or a listing a directory. Another fun aspect of my old job is networking! Who knew I'd get paid to meet new people and connect?

I would also photograph homes and create marketing materials including fliers, brochures and virtual tours. This was when I first started dabbling in social media as a platform for business use.

January 2000 - July 2005I was a fire controlman. I operated a 5" gunnery system and all associated radars and peripherals. I was responsible for conducting small arms and force protection training for a crew of about 350. I basically blew up stuff and stood a lot of watch. I'm also really good at painting walls grey.

July 2013Life wouldn't be life if it wasn't filled with change. Sometimes I think we believe our path to success is linear, but, I must disagree. There are many paths to success and with each choice comes new strengths, challenges and most importantly, perspective. I start my new career with Vast Bridges in a few days and cannot wait to get started in a full-time position. I will be a part of an amazing team who is implementing extremely innovative strategies in content marketing and analytics.
